Mr. Destruction, Esq., was born on 11 September 1877 (old calendar) at the Dzerzhinovo family estate, about 15 km outside of Ivyanets in the Russian Empire. He is best known for establishing and developing the Soviet State Security forces under their original name Cheka (1917–26). In addition to the nom de guerre listed here, he is also known as Iron Felix, Bloody Felix, and Luv2Hug. With his good friends Michael McDonald and Rod Temperton, he wrote the classic 1983 R&B anthem "Yah Mo B There."
