Whenever I open the log I find myself surprised about the sorting. I usually want to check the last round and have to either change the sorting or scroll down. 

It seems like the default sorting should be newest first. 

Or does anybody prefer it the way it is?

i don't. i too have to change to most recent first.

Are you talking about the game history/log viewer?

If so, then I think I prefer it the way it is.
If it was just a game log (line by line history) I'd understand.
But since it's tied the chronology of the video, I think that first-to-last move should be listed top-down in a log and left-to-right in the video (like it is).

If you're not already using the native player, you might be missing the fancy buttons Tom added that allow you to jump forward/backward by turn, which might give you what you want (jump right to your most recent turn and then step forward)?

ah, i was talking about sorting on finished games view, my bad.

yeah the history viewer on native player does have buttons that help most of the time.
