if im looking to take control of a continent that i mostly control but has a few teammates in it, do i have to attack them to take it over or do i just say to attack them and take control of it incorporating his units into my armies?
You have to attack them as if they were opponents, so you could lose many armies if they are "lucky".
If you can wait, I would suggest you ask them to waste their armies against neutral or if there is only you left, against you using 1 dice to attack against 2 of yours, so they get as much chance as possible to lose.
i didnt think you could attack with just one army can you?

If abandon is on you can.
Also, I think if Team Unit Transfer" is on, you could fortify all (or all but one) unit(s) to your teammate.
had to attack him and of course lost 2 armies on my first try. seems kind of stupid to have to do that. would be nice if there was another option to allow the takeover of a territory that could maybe be used as one of your transfers or something.
seems a little complex for just a board game, all though it is a intaresting idea.

I said with 1 dice, so what I meant is if your partner has 3 armies, instead of attacking you with 2 dice, he could choose to attak with 1 dice, as long as he can, depending of the settings.
gotcha... no we are able to re-enforce each other in this one but you of course wouldnt know that. i need to keep in mind all the different settings that can be used when i post in the future =cD

This was a short discussion about cool rule mods re: teamplay and continents.

Interesting. Amidon got hit by the edited post bug, which ruined his link, but when the regulator quoted it, it fixed the link.
FYI - here's a good one:

How does the option "Team Factory Production" work? Is that a potential workaround here?
thanks ozy
Sometimes I cringe when I see teamplay is not enabled on a team game... like 2v2 on antfarm. But it also does add some complexity, cooperation and communication to the game for another level of strategy. So since it goes both ways, I usually don't mind a lot IF the partner is attentive to what is going on! (then again, even if you could transfer, an inattentive teammate might not!!)
I think you're saying that team transfers/placement OFF is the harder, more complex game, requiring greater cooperation and communication. And in such a game, you'd want competent, communicative, attentive teammates. (Without the word "But", I interpret you as saying that it is a harder game with transfers/etc ON.)
I think it's cool how you can fly across the board with everything ON, but the decisions get pretty difficult when resources don't flow as easily and goals have to be achieved by suiciding troops and moving efficiently together.
