You can attack any territory without a unit present (anything with a zero on it). maybe blackdog will give you back your turn if you ask him, otherwise you will be behind.
You can attack either up or left. You can attack any territory with 0 units on it.
but I'm attacking with 0 sided dice -- I can't win ..?? Can I? It is confusing ..no?
there is nothing to defend so you automatically win.
Hmmm... then why 0 sided dice -- why not make them 1 sided?
doesn't make a difference, just don't attack a 1, that is the point.
0 sided attack dice is very misleading then.
0 sided attack dice should be taking as no chance to kill units, so the only way to take a territory is if it is abandoned (no units present). I agree there is little difference between 1 sided and 0 sided, but they are meant to discourage anyone from attacking an occupied territory. 1 sided gives the illusion that there is a chance to kill a unit whereas 0 sided gives no should illusion.
1 sided suggest to me that it is possible to win an owned territory with no armies, whereas 0 sided suggests to me that it is impossible to advance ..period.
I'm trying to think of a reason that there are zero sided dice at all. As I recall, Ed Nygma requested that we have them, but I can't remember why.
They are important for defending; a territory that defends with 0-sided dice is an automatic lose for the defender. As I recall we had this discussion back in September and I made several changes to seven, just not the 0v1 change, but the dice work the same way on five. Maybe someday I will change them, but for now I am going to be lazy.
