I find this game a lot of fun. It's nice to play with high numbers other than overpowered card turn-ins. One of these days I'll even manage to win a game of it on this site.
One of my favorite maps. The large bonuses work well with d4vd4 dice, but the dice also require extra planning. The temples to grant vision can be great for knowing where to focus attacks, but they are typically not worth the number of units you have to dedicate to take them, even when they grant additional bonuses.
Overall though, the map is very fun, and half the strategy is in picking your starting territories, something not often done on this site.
It's a fast paced map that rewards aggressive play. However, high unit count and heavy fog tend to turn it into a run away for one person who just gets lucky not to get attacked. That said I really like the chose your starting position aspect.
Overall, I like the board and the game play. As Oatworm noted, the default fog setting is essential to a fair game. I would like to see the Shrines changed a bit. I think that without the unit bonus, and with a lower unit count they might get used more often to uncover the fog, rather then just ignored as in most games.
This is one of those boards I didn't really think much of initially, but, having played it a few times here and on WF, I'm beginning to develop some respect for.
This board is best played with a very aggressive mindset; the high unit counts skew things heavily toward the attacker, so grab-and-hold strategies don't work well. Also, fog is absolutely essential if you want a positive game experience - the more the better, frankly, since it encourages offense.
