Board Description

Your goal is to create a continuous path of connected territories across the board.

When you have done this you can fortify your stack of starting units across and take your opponents capital.

Each turn you have the choice of taking either 2 squares or one half-octagon.

To take a half octagon you must first move a unit into your Octagon Attack territory and then attack the half octagon of your choice.

All attacks to the board are D1vsD1 so you will lose if you try to take a territory that has units.

Attacking the capital is D2vsD1 so you want to fortify over your entire stack and use a T attack to end the game.

Scenario Notes:

Original: Nothing fancy

Square Attack: Players attack the squares, but can then attack out from them to the half-octagons. Revert to neutral is off.

Start Octagons: Players begin with a random selection of some half-octagons.

Start Squares: Players begin with a random selection of the squares.

Start Zeros: Players begin with a random selection of octagons, but they all have 0 units. This means you can attack the other players territories. You can also fortify on the board from one territory to another, but I am not sure why you would.

This is a WarGear adaption of the game "Octagons" created by R. Wayne Schmittberger and published in the book "New Rules for Classic Games". If you enjoy playing games (and if you don't, why are you here?) I would suggest finding a copy. Many new games are laid out as well as variations on classic games - including RISK.

If you have any ideas for scenarios/variations on this board please PM me with details.

Enjoy!
