WarGear has a built in turn and message notification system which means you shouldn't need to reload the page to update the state of the game or to take your turn.
How it should work
If you're playing a game and leave the game player tab open in your browser, at the end of each player's turn, the game board should automatically update itself to show what just happened. In addition, when it's your turn you should see an instant notification appear at the top left of your screen like this:
If it's now your turn in a game and the player is open on that game, the game controls will unlock and you'll be able to take your turn immediately without having to refresh the page or the player.
If the player is open and it's now your turn in a different game, the 'Show Next Turn' button should appear in the player so you can switch to that game as shown below:
You should also get instant game message notifications (someone sent you a message) and game event notifications (you won a game, someone was booted or eliminated etc),
Troubleshooting tips
If these features don't work for you, here's some things to check:
Check you haven't turned off Instant Notifications
Go to the Instant Notifications section of your Notification Settings page (https://www.wargear.net/settings/notifications). These default to being enabled when your account is created so this should only apply if you turned these off.
Check your ad or privacy blocker isn't blocking any critical services or scripts.
This applies if you use browser extensions like Ublock Origin or Privacy Badger. Make sure no scripts or services are being blocked. We don't use (and promise to never use) any third party tracking or analytics or advertising services so we recommend unblocking everything. However, we do depend on a service from Pusher.com to send the messages from WarGear to your web browser. This will be blocked by many browser extensions by default so you will need to unblock this if you want instant notifications to work as described above.
Here's how it looks if blocked by Privacy Badger - click on 'Disable for this site' to turn this off or use the slider to enable it:
And here's UBlock Origin - click on the Blue icon on the right to disable blocking on wargear.net:
If none of the above helps, let me know!
I am playing in six games, Not ten.....
You are currently in twelve games.
But also you very clearly do not return to these threads to actually read the answers.
