Pratik worte: It was months after I started being active on WG that I noticed the "Help" section. "Help" sounds like where you would go for IT issues.
I think it would be a good idea to add the wikipage as a tab in the Boards Forum. And probably not require too much work on Tom's part to implement. Any seconds?
..or maybe rename the Support Area forum something like
Support/WiKi/FAQs
It does seem as if some people post questions as if they don't know the Wiki exists.
..unless I'm misunderstanding your intent. Are you looking for a forum for contributors to the Wiki? ..or users?
Another solution, change the name of main "Help" tab to "Wiki/FAQs"
Well, I think there’s a benefit to see a list of the boards in line item order by name as opposed to the large board image. Folks could scroll through the list of boards, find the name of one that looks interesting, and click on the link for more info (and often an image) of the board.

You mean like this?
http://www.wargear.net/wiki/doku.php?id=boards:the_complete_board_list
Right. The way it is now, it’s hidden away in the Help Forum.

This is desperately needed.

So it's "hidden away" in a misnamed forum.
Only Tom can fix the poorly named link, but we can fix the "hidden away" part. The help button brings the user right to a set of links including the board list. It's just a matter of better formatting the page - Two solutions come to mind
There are probably even better ways..
Not sure if any of you noticed it yet, but Tom did add the wiki board button once you go to the Boards tab.
That's cool. Wonder when that happened. I'm happy to see Tom is putting some time into making the site look nice. I've been pimping it in http://reddit.com/r/risk when people ask for suggestions for online play.
He seems to do things quietely from time to time, making slight improvements here and there.
