What is the longest single game ever played?

I searched for "longest game" using the forum search but the two results given were only two player's active thread pages.

I just joined a 16P Civil War game that I may not live to finish.

Of course, WGWF is at 2520 days.

What makes you worried about that game if it's just started? I checked your active games list and it's only a 1-day timer. Whatever the longest game is I suspect it's a 3 day timer or, as MB suggests, a 7-day one (those are rare from my experience but might have been more common before I registered).

I see on that page that two 8P CW games lasted 380 days, but it doesn't link to either actual game.  I'm looking for a link to the longest actual game.

Also, despite mentioning CW originally, I'm looking for the longest game played on any board.  I played a game on the Texas board on Warfish that lasted over a year.  Are you sure that the longest game on WG was on CW and not some other board?

Never said the longest game on WG was 380. That was for CW.

That page shows 2520 days for a 3P game and 2540 days for a 4P game.  No other games, even games with more players on bigger boards, are even close to that long.  That's not just "well over a year," that's several years, like since the founding of WarGear.

Again, there's no link to either of those actual games, but I'm thinking both of those have to be a corrupted record of some kind, and are invalid candidates for this thread.

I wrote to Tom and asked if he could provide some facts and figures for this thread, but he didn't reply.  (He did reply to a message about another issue which makes me wonder why he skipped the one about this thread.)

I am almost positive that Livia was in a game on that map that was taking forever.  I thought there was a forum thread about it because it had the most units I'd ever seen - 10k+  units in multiple territories if I remember correctly.  I actually went and tried to dig through past game to find it, but I couldn't find it.

Tom's involvement with the site has decreased a lot in the last few years, and is mostly limited to major support problems, so I'm not surprised that he is ignoring something that is basically idle curiosity.

The game I linked to in post 10 had pretty huge armies and Livia was in it, it wouldn't happen to be the one you're thinking of?
