I understand the dilemma, and I think it's fair to reset the game, but reverting a fogged game several days after the revert request was made and at a point when play had continued a full round which revealed strategies and territories owned has, IMHO, a greater deleterious effect on the integrity of the game. (This is the game I'm in: http://www.wargear.net/games/player/577616 )
In the past, I've asked for, and was granted, a reset on a game I was involved with, but I made sure to post to everyone playing that I had done so so that players wouldn't take their turn.
It would have been good if either Tom or Kjeld had posted something explaining that the game was reset. I only just discovered because I looked at the map, was totally confused, and detective work led me here.

Yes, that would have been best, sorry I didn't make an announcement in each game. That said, there were 6 different game resets, so it was a bit complicated!

All reverted.
Hey tom,
I think there is some error due to the reverting of the first one in the above list: http://www.wargear.net/games/player/586798
It is my turn, but I have nothing to place (when I should be having 2).
Here http://www.wargear.net/games/view/587394
and here http://www.wargear.net/games/view/587858
Pls, don't undo the moves I have already made in the last link.

I was unskipped in the WGWF game and have played my turn but am still skipped in the Colossal Crusade game.
Bump.
I'm soon to be skipped in the same CC game mentioned by redshift. Would be nice to have it reset before that.
I too have now gotten skipped in the CC game despite entering vacation mode, which somehow didn't work. It was the first time I tried it so maybe I did it wrong.
Bump.
Please fix game http://www.wargear.net/games/view/587858 Tom.
Opponents keep playing on like nothing happens and is constantly getting information they're not supposed to have.

Reverted.

Not far enough. redshift was skipped, he shouldn't have been. It's supposed to be his turn, not mine.
Also the things he did before he got skipped should stay. He started his turn before the holiday he just didn't complete it.
His first round, if there is any doubt. The opponents hadn't started yet.

It's to the very first turn of the game, I was skipped while on vacation at the time. I had done some moves (which I hope you don't revert) but not all of them as I was discussing things with my partner.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry, updated!
Tom - any idea what's going on here? I don't remember people ever getting skipped on vacation before, but now it seems like it's happening weekly.
I guess in this day and age vacations just aren't what they once were.
I know, I'm struggling to get to the bottom of it! It happens when a server peak load happens due to again something I'm not sure of. I suspect at this point it's an issue with the hardware on which the WarGear VPS runs.
I made some modifications to the boot / skip code but it hasn't helped at this point. Still working on it!
Ok. Thanks for the update. I know you don't owe it to us, but it makes me feel better knowing you're actively working on the problem.
At least I haven't found server down for some days now and according to this thread there have been no complaints since mine on day 7 (unless they have been directed to Tom through PM or e-mail).

Thanks. There's still one thing I wonder about. Can you check the game for number of cards?

It has been getting better - last issue with server load was on the 18th.
