I just fluked a win on the board "Darkness Falls", my first on the board, and this took me all the way to 6th in the rankings, gaining me my first Championship point. Looking at the board points, #1 has eight, #2 has two, and #3-#8 has one each. #9 has nothing.
Now, I do not in any way feel I deserve more than one point, and I doubt even that one will last long, but I would like to know the rules for when a board reach the full scale of points, the 20-15-12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1 one.
Anyone know?
Its related to your score on the board.

Crap...beat me to it by mere seconds!
Also this though -
"only the top 10 players of a board will obtain Championship Points"
so on boards that have lots of people with lots of points the actual score may not come into play.
Right, so somebody with a board score of 1580 might end up with 0 championship points if he's ranked 15th on the board, for example. Not sure if that's the fairest way to score. I think, since there's a cap, there should also be a basement CP for having a certain amount.
For example, if someone is 1101 - 1200, I think it makes sense that they get a minimum of 1 point if they are ranked outside the top 10, 2 pts min for 1201-1300, and so on, perhaps up to a minumum cap of 5 points. Wouldn't be too hard to code that into the engine.
Thanks ratsy, makes sense to me. If you're top-10 you get points according to the scale, but limited by your own board ranking. So you can't get too many points by taking on boards almost noone has played at, it needs a bit of work.
I haven't thought too much about those points, mainly playing Wargear Warfare where getting into the points is a massive undertaking, but maybe I should see if I can at least become a Sergeant :) It seems to me two points are enough for that.
Thanks also to the rest of you :)
I kind of agree with Thingol it could have been points to more than the top-10 on boards with a huge amount of players. I'd start higher than 1100, though. Maybe start at 1200 instead. So for me, I'd only get extra points on Wargear Warfare.
btw, speaking of rankings.
I notice my avatar lists me as unranked. ratsy is 126th, Thingol 91st, Amidon37 8th. Where can I find this ranking? I haven't noticed that one anywhere. And how can I get on it? Do I need to win a tournament?
You need a CP point.

Ah...this old chesnut. I believe there is a 400 post thread or two on this subject.

I have a CP point, if that means Championship Point. My profile lists me as #580 with 1 point. But my avatar lists me as unranked. So I was curious about the avatar ranking.
I can add that noone else in this thread have the same Championship ranking as avatar ranking.
Difference is biggest for AfroDady who is 51st in the Ch rankings and 1696th in the avatar ranking. There aren't as many as 1696 People with Ch points at all so it must be something else.
I don't know where that "Rank Posn:" comes from. I'm not #8 in any chart I can find.
that is weird, i always thought it was CP too. i wonder if it's tied to age here? nope, not that either.
lol, I just noticed Babbalouie has the same "Unranked" label as I have. I guess winning tournaments doesn't help, then.

It was probably a bug or a delay due to the recent recalc.
Now the figures match the Chapionship Points ranking.
