This one's been talked about more than a few times

As far as I know the only official rules against talking are in regard to verbal abuse/harassment.

Last forum I remember the majority seemed to be leaning towards, "All's fair..." It's a WAR game after all. But, with the understanding that motives are biased, information could be disinformation, and all actions have consequences.

The other guy is free to post whatever he wants about the board, but you are free to call him on it and rally the rest of the players against him.

Difference between "free speech" and "consequence free speech"

Myself, I will use chatter in whatever way I feel will serve me best, with one exception. 

I will never to intentionally break a truce.  Even if it costs me a few games I think my reputation as a "safe" truce has won me a whole bunch more. 

I may be a pathological liar and I'd steal from your mom if I could. I hope my reputation builds.

Just a bit.. I've established myself as not being a big fan of alliances, etc.. so I'm getting my subtle digs in ;)  All is fair, right?
