The rock, the twig and the rope keep me company on the walk. Since it's at least a mile high (from the ground) and possibly higher from sea level, I think I'm doing ok but altitude sickness could be a concern if the pillars were placed more then a mile above sea level. I have hiked (and acclimatized along the way) up to 3.1 miles above sea level before though, and was fine, but if I were abruptly placed 2+ miles up the body might not like that?
I see no need to carry the rock, twig and rope with you on your journey - they would only serve to weigh you down.
I'm thinking that an unlimited amount of rope might make it such that you could create a hillside/mountain of rope from which to crawl down and then up from. Might take close to a lifetime, but apparently we're allowed that.
No need for the rock or twig
cover the entire planet in rope up to the level of the pillars.

This is not dissimilar from my idea - but filling the world with rope is not necessary - you only need enough to get from pillar to pillar - besides you only get 1 lifetime to work with the materials.
OK - new approach -- There is nothing around the pillars, right?
So we must be in space (wearing spacesuits of course).
How thick are the pillars?
M57's answer is the official answer. The rock and twig are just distractors. Unlimited amount of rope = keep piling it up until you can walk from one to the other.
Alternatively, start a rope selling business. Even with your poor location, your infinite rope machine should provide with you a substantial edge over the competition. Once you have amassed a fortune, hire a construction company to build a bridge between pillars.
cover the entire planet in rope up to the level of the pillars.
Woo Hoo.. I actually got one!!
mine was better. and more realistic.
WT - I do like your ingenuity, but the answer was wrong, the pillars were 10 ft diameter, so your option isn't successful.
Also, I see your video, and raise you this:

I know that it's not the same, because the pillar is metal, but man is it impressive.
that's more what i was looking for. but the step/loop method in my video would work on metal surfaces (seen them do them on utility power lines here). but anywooo
my turn:
#1 - I went into the woods and got it. I sat down to seek it. I brought it home with me because I couldn't find it. What is it?
#2 - I am weightless, but you can see me. Put me in a bucket, and I'll make it lighter. What am I?
#2 - flame?
#2 - a hole?
#1 a splinter
What comes next?
1
11
21
1211
111221
312211
________
13112221
why?
each line is what you get if you read aloud the previous line
1
11 -> "one 1"
21 => "two 1s"
1211 -> "one 2, one 1"
