Very fun. The initial curve is steep but once you're over it one of the gods hits you and chaos follows. Home for several strategies and leaves room for underdogs who saved their card sets.
This is an excellent, creative map, which I have seen play out numerous ways. The Ares and Poseidon "back doors" don't always come into play, but they can be utilized to devastating effect. The ability to fortify and then return to attack is a critical element that was well thought out. Great map.
Of the Krock mobile boards, GOTT is another attempt at hashing out a good idea. I like it, but don't love it. There is also an incredible amount of unused items (territories) to the right of the board.
Interesting to play once. Not sure about repeat plays, though.
It's unique, but not necessarily fun. I particularly don't like the map. The capitals, ships, and ports make sense, but the army unit symbols should be better. It should look more like a map.
Of Krock's "Titans" boards, this one is easily my favorite. Unlike a lot of designers, Krock isn't afraid of implementing a choke point or two - in fact, the Titans boards are nothing *but* choke points. The beauty of this variation is that, though it's quite clear where each attack is going *to* (either the ports or the capitols), you never really know where it's going to come *from*. The result is similar to fighting inside a series of hourglasses, with an "upper", "lower", and "middle" board that you must control, with the "middle" board serving as a bridge between the "upper" and "lower" levels. It's actually pretty neat.
