This board is terrible. The learning curve is too steep and the game play is entirely counter intuitive. Its too easy to be eliminated before you even take a turn. What's the point?
My biggest compliant is that The Arbor island is a prison with now way to get troops out of it. I do not even understand why you would create a board with only moving troop into an island and no way to attack or even fortify them off an island. Am I missing something?
Love the layout and design, but gameplay has seemed to devolve to who can move fastest to take out neighboring noobs and use their weakness to rush the map.
Love this map. Many different things to take into account during your turn, especially the terrain and unit reinforcement. The different game modes add fun twists to the board which completely change how you need to play.
very good i would actually put winds of winter as the default scenario. winds of winter is a much more balanced game play scenario then home is where the house is. Home is where the house is should just be played occasionnaly with experianced players who are well aware of all the rules.
Quite simply the worst board I've ever played. Border are insane, I mean literally insane, you have no clue what countries can attack which other ones. Countries share huge borders and they cant attack each other, and even if you might be able to actually attack another country, it might have some stupid modifier.
I like this board but it actually plays too fast, and it is only for experienced players. I would like to see this with the everyone moves at once turn option, it would remove the quick kill that so often happens as it is possible to get large forces all the way across the map in one turn.
Love this board, 1 wrong move and you can be immediately eliminated. I have had few matches where i won or lost on the 2nd turn already. Just as it has been said previously some Houses start at the wrong place and I don't understand why the capital color does not match the continent colors. Took me 2-3 games to figure out that I should look at the color of the capital and not the continent for the starting place :)
Wow! This board is a lot of fun. The different scenarios feel like they are their own board each with a strategy to go with them. I haven't had a chance to play team games on each, but when I play them individually I imagine what I would do with a partner. Every territory has it's use for massing armies and blocking from different angles. Rivers are amazingly useful and dreadful at the same time.
After just a few games I know this is going in my all time favorites list. Give it a try and rate it yourself.
Excellent board. Only complaint is that not all of the House / Capital assignments are correct. ex: House Baratheon starts out in the Vale instead of the Stormlands, House Arryn starts out in the Riverlands instead of the Vale, House Tully starts out in Dorne instead of the Riverlands, House Martell starts out in Pentos instead of Dorne...
