I don't like it as much as the others thus far, but it's a solid board all around.

MUCH more challenging than it looks at first glance. Though you can certainly play it Hordes-style, you'll quickly discover the hard way that Cross bonuses compound on each other. On the other hand, they're remarkably easy to tear apart, unless you have to go through several crosses consecutively. Or you can go for continents... or can you? Depends on the continent, I suppose.

What impresses me about this board is that it's challenging not because it's technically complex, but because the few complexities work together to keep your and your opponents' heads off-balance.

love it. so many things to consider with the cross area having poor defense but strong defense from other crosses -- this makes for unique defensive positions. You can't just defend your boarders because a negative defense will kill you. Also the bonuses coming from crosses, continents, and hoards in Judea make for many options when advancing. Graphics are great! superb map. :)

Love the graphics. The game play is very straight-forward, although if you are playing against someone who doesn't understand hoards, you're going to have a very unfair advantage. But that's you're opponent's problem, isn't it? ;)

Fantastic map. I love how the dynamic changes back and forth so frequently in the game when you have more than four players. Hordes mixed with continental bonuses are fantastic. And I agree that the Cross territories are very unique and make the game play a bit more complex. Kudos

Very nice.

I love the convoluted paths one can take to maximize the cross bonuses when attacking. I also like how the crosses make setting up a defense tricky because it's strength depends on where the attack comes from, making setting up a chokepoint non-trivial.

The hordes bonus was a nice touch as well and the areas in which 4 crosses touch proved interesting tactical points.

The lowest continent might be a bit over-powered though. I was able to control it, Palestine and a decent hordes bonus with only 5 border territories total.
