A board for pure strategy, no dice luck here. Interesting variations of play. Like Chele Nica below I'd like to be more enthusiastic about it but for some reason play is less enjoyable here than on the other strategy boards. I suppose it's because I'm unable to find a whole in the strategy. My shortcomings won't have to be yours so give it a try.

I really want to like this board more, but something doesn't quite do it for me. I love boards that rely on strategy, and this one has no placement luck or luck of the dice. However, after playing several games, I just don't enjoy the strategy on this board enough to play it regularly. I will come back to it, specially for a tourney every now and then, and maybe I'll get to enjoy it more over time.

Probably the best pure strategy game on WarGear!

And unlike a few of the other strategy boards around, there is no luck involved: No luck of the dice, and no luck of the initial distribution either.

I agree with Oatworm - Yes we are using the Wargear engine, but this game isn't even Risk related. I did enjoy it, but for those looking for other versions of Risk, this isn't for you. For those interested in a challenging, unique gameplay, strategic game to play against other similarly minded folks, then definitely worth playing a bunch of games (you'll likely hate the first 2-3 rounds, because it'll take some getting used to the gameplay).

If you want to try it out, send me an invite for a private game and I'll play with you.

Interesting, but it's very difficult to play your first game, especially if you don't read the rules first

Not for beginners. There's basic strategy involved in watching your opponents move. Read the rules before you jump in. Interesting concept though.

I have found the current version to be excellent. The game itself is entertaining and challenging, which is more than I can say for many of the other boards on WarGear.

This board has gone through so many iterations it's hard to comment on all of them. Out now is version 3 (and will most likely be the permanent version). I held off on a review, being a co-designer, although I was tempted to rate this as a 10 simply to balance out other reviews from previous versions.

I love it. Not for beginners.

Did you like your first game of chess? Probably not. Did it grow on you with time (and understanding)? Probably. Take that mindset- you won't be disappointed.
