While this map appears slightly goofy, it plays quickly and enjoyably. High interconnectedness paired with easy bonuses makes for a fairly gritty multiplayer scenario where an inexperienced move can quickly result in defeat.

I have to agree that it is a fantastic first step in the direction of more complex boards. Fortify anywhere makes you think and it is difficult to "put your back against a wall". Give it a try, I think you will like it. Another Risky gem!

It seems whoever goes first has a disadvantage on this board. The play is quick and there is no spot to build an army, just hope that you aren't attacked first.

Ha! Funny board with a few quirks (fortifying anywhere). Good board for those looking to start expanding out from the simple command and conquer boards while still staying with something familiar.
