Hansa Teutonica garnered 'Game of the Year' and 'Best Strategy Game' awards from Board Game Geek in 2010. Of course, this Risk-style homage plays quite differently.
The game is won by capturing 2 of the 6 guild scrolls, then holding them through an entire turn and into their following turn. Once you have accomplished this you have won the game. On your next turn 'place' your units and the game will end.
6 solitary roads on the map lead to smaller hamlets. These are accompanied by a 'cloak and dagger' shaped silhoettete territory. They represent a network of spies and theives. The more of them you capture, the greater their 'continental' in-hand bonus value per the following table..
2 hamlets = 1 bonus unit
3 h = 3 bonus units
4 h = 6 bonus units
5 h = 10 bonus units
6 h = 15 bonus units
