Board DescriptionBackstory: The mad have once again escaped Arkham. They run loose in the streets of Gotham. From deep within a bat filled cave, a caped crusader tracks the spread of crime from an advanced computer system. But, today he's feeling lazy and would rather kick back with a cold one and watch as the Villians fight to claim Gotham as their own. Besides, maybe it'd be easier to clean up the city after all the Villians have wiped each other out! Get in the mood: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r94AJzJZZaU --------------------------------------------------------- Map Rules: Special map rules are also on the map image. *Gotham City Police Department (neutral) starts with control of the roadblocks (black circles). *Villains (players) may cross minor roads (colored lines), but can only cross major roads (black) at a roadblock (circles). *Villains can recruit more thugs to their gang as they bring territory under control. Receive +1 recruit (bonus) for taking over all the blocks in a neighborhood. *Some neighborhoods are split by major roads. Any time territories outlined in the same color are found on either side of a single major road, this is the case. Territories on both sides of the major road are required for the bonus. *Villains that take over a neighborhood and all adjacent roadblocks receive additional recruits each turn equal to the number of roadblocks adjacent to the neighborhood. *Many roadblocks are adjacent to more than one neighborhood, and are required to receive the roadblock bonus for any of them. *Villains may switch between attack and transfer phases at will. *Villains may attack from harbor to harbor along the designated routes, and will receive +8 recruits for controlling all of them. ---------------------------------------------------- Design narrative: This version of Gotham City is more Adam West TV Gotham than Tim Burton movie Gotham. Some people may not be as familiar, but there are hundreds, if not thousands, of identities given to this city. I decided I like the comic, fun version with almost likeable villians more than the dark, seedy, sometimes even gory versions available. Regardless of the style, I hope you enjoy the gameplay. --------------------------------------------------------- Header image created using "Little City" font found at fontspace.com for public use.
