This map is based on Tolkien's classic, showing the map of Beleriand during the First Age.

1. Regular risk-based play.
2. Return to attack and placement is ON.

1. Default, turn-based version
2. Simulplay version - this scenario uses Simulgear play.
3. Dual, turn-based version - this is a 2-player version; the setup is changed slightly to accomodate and balance the 2p game.
4. Doriath is Closed - in this scenario, the central forest kingdom of Doriath is unavailable to attack or move thru.

• The map has a few corners which can be used to defend small continent bonuses. It’s good strategy to go after one of these early.
• Use the high ground when possible as the hills attack with advantage.
• Gondolin is a very useful place to acquire, for it’s +2 bonus, defensive advantage, and it’s one-way attack outlets.
• Doriath, the forest realm in the board’s center, defends with advantage. Even nearby hills have their attack advantage nullified (thus resulting in regular dice). It’s often a good place to fall back on when dice aren’t going your way early. Due to it’s central location, there are some key strategic corner locations within Doriath.
