Hi. The keeps are capitals. Some, but not all, boards have them - check the initial setup description section about the board to see if it has capitals. In any game that has capitals, if you lose control of your last capital, you automatically lose the game. So if you had both keeps and lost one, you're still good. But since you only had one, once I took it, you were out. Make sense?
