Would it be possible to add some rulers and the ability to place guides to the board design page (much like on photoshop or any other graphics editing program)? It would be nice, especially for grid-based maps, to be able to set up lines and be able to snap the territories to those lines and intersections. This is not critical, but it would be a handy feature and help these types of maps look cleaner.
Yes it should be - the other option on my ToDo list is to be able to export the board data to file and reimport - that way you can set the x-y data in a text editor so the positioning is 100% correct. Better than spending hours trying to get every point pixel perfect, I used it for the crossword board for example.
As you are probably aware - another nice option, would be the 'snap to white pixel', which would snap country centers to the nearest white pixel. I imagine that many of the map makers coming from warfish might already have images with the appropriate white pixels.
You know I've never used the snap to whit pixil thing and had it work. Not that it wouldn't be nice to have since I really enjoy ignoring helpful features.

I agree with this.

The 'snap to white pixel' feature works quite well, and I'm one of those designers with a stock of white pixel images to go along with my imported designs. I think the trick, Risky, is to make sure the white pixels really are pure white.
I also highly approve of any effort to provide import/export to a file. This sort of thing can be highly useful for automating data entry and for error checking a design, especially for boards with lots of border modifiers.
