You can now embed game images in your forum posts using the following shorthand codes:

The gameid is the number at the end of the URL when you are viewing a game
The turnid can be found from the History viewer within the game

Embed a full size image of a game (will update as game progresses)
[game=gameid]

Embed a full size image of a game at the given turnid (won't update as game progresses)
[game=gameid turnid=turnid]

Embed a thumbnail image of a game (will update as game progresses and thumbnail will autolink to full image)
[gamethumb=gameid]

Embed a thumbnail image of a game at the given turnid (won't update as game progresses and thumbnail will autolink to full image)
[gamethumb=gameid turnid=turnid]

Examples:

I'll also add a feature in so that the game image can be embedded in the thread header to that a discussion about a particular game will always have the relevant game state at the top of the thread.

Note: all embedded images are subject to the game's fog settings - i.e. if the game is Live you'll only see what you're allowed to see given the state of the game and whether you are playing in it or not.

I read the thread then put the laptop on hibernate to take to work and thought hmmmm, I wonder...So I guess the 4 hours this time :/. 

It should really be cheating by tom since he normally puts out the big stuff in the middle of the night here .

On the completely unrelated note, this weekend will probably be slow on WG (family in town for my daughter's b-day party), but should be on as normal other than that!

If someone does post a thumb or full image of a game, I think it should automagically be clickable to go to the game.

Hmmm, does kind of make sense (perhaps not all that intuitive at first though), although I like the Thumb just being brought full into the Flash Browser.

Ah.. I didn't even notice the thumb was clickable to bring up the full image, that's pretty cool.  I think you're right, it may not be intuitive, but when I saw your full screen game image the first thing I tried doing is click on it.

Oh, mine of Global Warfare was just me being annoying and putting a full image in my signature, it wasn't the embedding type.  :D

You can also embed board images like so:

(without the spaces between the [])

[ board=boardname ]

[ boardthumb=boardname ]

 e.g.

I think I've seen people post pics (perhaps only in the sig???). Is the thumbnail trick available for arbitrary images? (My guess is no, but I thought I'd ask.)

Whoa, that's odd. Not sure if you planned it this way or not, but the enlarged images have the "prev" and "next" buttons on the sides and they cycle through the images of the particular thread.

It seems a bit pointless/strange to have that feature, but I guess it does no harm.

It's an inbuilt feature of the lightbox - I could turn it off but I think it's quite handy.

Hugh it's only available for images that are added using the bbcodes [xxxx=1234] at this stage.
