    I was trying to make a private game and the page seems to just reload when I click "create game"

    Did you invite players before clicking "create game" ? Believe it kicks you back if you don't invite folks, but I'm going on memory and haven't done it in a while. It will also kick you back if you haven't filled in a required field but there is usually a red hint regarding that.
