put myself on vaca. huge storm hit Iowa this week. think 20mi wide tornado across half the state. main metro ares will be without power for a week (likely). no power/no cell signal. see y'all on the other side.

Yeah, that storm also swept across the rest of the midwest. I was on the golf course when one of my teammates wife called and said there were 80-100 mph winds just outside of town. Foolishly, we continued to play (as it was still nice out, just with a sharp darkening in the west...plus we were playing very well and winning our match, starting hole 11). Then, as we were approaching the 11th green, all hell broke loose, with it going near dark and winds picking up exponentially. Thankfully, the clubhouse was nearby and we hightailed it there. Our area didn’t have the type of damage that Weather had though. The storm was a derecho, btw.
