So I've tried inserting images into a forum post, and I've never been successful.
I see the button for "insert/edit image", but that only allows for a link, and not for uploading an image from my computer.
Even inserting a link has not worked for me to be able to display the image.
Can someone tell me how you do it, so I can replicate your process? Thanks!
IIRC you need to be in "full editor". i think there might have been a thread about this too. i'll see if i can dig it up.
yeah, "Full Editor"
'Select File' for Image Upload
and viola, Bob's your uncle.
*Note: this seems to always add at the end of the post, rather than where the cursor is.

I don't believe this is true, and I don't think that sticky really answered the question the OP asked, so I'm gonna take a stab at it.
You don't need to be in the full editor; the Quick Reply also has an insert image button:
When you click that, you will get a dialog box asking for a source image. The only field you need to fill in is a URL of a source image in Image URL box:
Where do you get a source image URL? Well, I like imgur.com. It's extremely easy to post images there, and getting a URL for your posted images is even easier. After you upload an image, just click on it in your gallery and it gives you a button to copy the URL to your clipboard, like this:
Then you just paste that URL to the Image URL box and click Insert!
Hope that helps!
Not disagreeing with your post; however, that requires it to be a URL - not from your machine (per OP's ask). The only way to paste images from your machine is from the Full Editor.
Thanks for the helpful post zyx.
Should this info be on the wiki somewhere? Maybe there should be a section on the forums?
Very cool visual explanation, thanks zyx!
I agree on adding this in the wiki somewhere
Weathertop: I don't see a 'select file' button in the Full Editor, does it have a different name?
So I just tried the full editor to post a picture directly from my laptop, and it didn't seem to work. Is there a size limit?
