Great to see AD chime in. I'll second Vertigo as a good option. I've only played a couple games on it, but I like it and think it will be a quick play.
Never tried Vertigo. I remember looking at an open game and thinking it looks like a perennial stalemate in the making with four players only, a 3-3-3-3 card scale and no elimination bonus. Attacking will never pay unless someone attacks first I thought. But it doesn't work out that way?
Here’s my one public game on it:

It’s essentially a bit of a game of chicken.
I was going to post the poll on Friday, but got too busy. I'm working on putting it together now, and will post by tomorrow at the latest.
You'll all have till Sunday, March 10th to vote on your preferences

Nygma, when I click on this, it says invite is invalid, but then I can click on continue to discord, and it takes me there no problem. Is there an updated link we should share? Otherwise, we'll just use this one, and follow 2-step process
I got ya covered Chele.
I've set the link to Never Expire, so it should be able to stay there all the time.
Awesome, thanks Spy!
Alright, vote here for your preferences for tourney board and multiplayer games:
https://www.demochoice.org/dcballot.php?poll=tourney
https://www.demochoice.org/dcballot.php?poll=games
Sunday, March 10th is the last day to vote on this poll.
Also, state on this thread your preference for the following:
Number of players (for multiplayer games)
Game speed. I assume we will use Real Time turns, but voice your opinioin here if you don't agree, and also if you prefer we use regular clock or fischer clock
Public vs private games
Fog level (none, light, medium, heavy, total)
Voted in both polls.
- I won't be playing in any multi player game larger than 4 players.
- Fischer seems better to regular real time, since it moves things along faster.
- Public games for me.
- No fog is my preference.
Important question, how does one create a real time tournament? I can't figure out how to do it.
Thanks Pratik!
Good qurstion about the real-time tourney. Someone besides me is going to have to set it up, since i'm a standard member. Anyone willing to do that?
By the way, I voted too, and I promise I didn't rig the election ;)
I think we can set up two multiplayer games at the beginning, and see if there's a need for more then or after we start playing.
I really don't like multiplayer games with no or light fog (except WGW and maybe one or two others), as they tend to encourage dealing and negotiating, so maybe Pratik can set up one, and i'll set up a different board based on what most players want to engage in
In my mind at least, the poll will be a guide to choose our boards, but not a straightjacket. If folks decide at the moment they want to try something else, I say go for it!
I am a Premium member but like Pratik I have no idea how to create a real time tournament. I have started several other tournaments and the only options I get for timer are 1 day and upwards.
Ok, so maybe 1 day timers will be the way to go, and we do real time turns on multiplayer games
I'm not saying that. My lack of knowledge doesn't mean a solution can't be found. Haven't there been one of these before? Who made it then?

Just took a look. And that was a 1 day timer! http://www.wargear.net/tournaments/view/2165
Yeah, we played a real-time game (http://www.wargear.net/games/view/549350), but 1 day turns for tourney. Luckily, everyone who joined the tourney was in on the real-time aspect and took their turns pretty fast
Chele
Both the game and the tourney took almost 4 hours back in 2016, so keep that in mind as you schedule your time that day
Just re-read our hangouts thread from 2016, that was fun. It was cool to see ratsy's comments, and cracked up (again) reading the "playing with the elf in the shelf" exchange. I don't know how you guys kept up so much banter while playing real-time games
Voted as well in both polls.
Other options:
- As long as it doesnt surpass 8 players im fine with whatever.
- Fischer Timing with a limit of 15-20 minutes per turn seems to be a good choice for me.
- Public Games.
- I play on all fog levels, so i don't mind whatever.
So far it looks like i may make it into this, and im starting to get excited. (Just hoping going to the movies to watch Captain Marvel doesnt overlap with the day of meetup..)
as was mentioned above, "RT" tourney was a actually a 1d limit - this had two purposes:
1: we were all online so it was expected that we all tried to take our turns as fast as possible
2: in case for whatever reason (internet glitches, bathroom breaks, food breaks, spouse came home and said you're done...) we had the ability to essentially stop the "RT" portion and just keep going.
We did have a couple RT games (Fischer clock) going for us to keep occupied while others took their turn. There was an unwritten/unspoken agreement that the RT game would take a backseat for each individual while their Tourney game moves were taken. It helped if the RT notifications were enabled; tho i remember having some trouble with it so i needed to make my RT game window a bit smaller so i could see when it was my turn in the Tourney game. I think there was only a couple times where I had to rush my tourney moves to get back and make my RT moves before a skipped turn, so wasn't hard to manage.
Combining this with the discord thing might make all this easier and/or more difficult to follow. I'm looking forward to it!
