How many boards have you won an individual public game on? I got my 60th yesterday. That is of course not a record. Amidon37 has won at least one individual public game on 208 different boards (!) I'm not sure this is a record either, I only checked the top-3 in the rankings, but it must be a good shot at it.
We currently have 318 Boards in the Board List, but not everything is visible there now.
PS! I specify individual public games due to how stats are presented here. It makes for easy counting (or transferring to a spreadsheet). Adding boards where you won a team game or a tournament game but not an individual Public one would be nice, but more laborious to ascertain.
A measly 31 (out of 41 boards played)
I've got 110/184 (i know i've played some of those non-win boards, but must have been private/tourney games i guess). guess i should go get a win on those boards now.
it took me a minute to find how to get this. For those wondering:
Go to your individual profile, select "player stats" tab. I then copied the table into excel and selected the copied data and hit 'filter' then sorted by non-zero in the "won" column.
I remember having a personal goal of getting a public win on every board at one time. I forget why I gave up on that -
By my count, I'm at 111 (out of 196) unique board wins on open games, plus probably a few more for boards I've only ever played in a tournament (e.g. Moon Base, Ten).
Edit: This little exercise also reminded me that there are several boards I tried to win a game on, but quit out of frustration before I got there (I'm looking at you, Capital Crusade... grr).
I think I'm around 50.

57 to be precise :)
From 107 played on. Didn't add that stat myself, but I'm now 61/77. Expect it to be 61/79 soon.
41 out of 80 played. In my defense, if I lose at a board and I don't like it, I generally don't play it again :)

Yep.

This is probably why I gave up.
The first board to frustrate me was Hordes of Africa, then it was Pirate Gear (which I am currently losing a game badly on again), now I see my worst is Mobs of New York - 0 and 12

Quite a common reaction, I'm sure :)
I have several 0 from 1 boards too, ones I don't see myself playing again. But you never know. I managed to "break the 0" for two such boards this summer, and suddenly found myself in the points instead. I guess I'll pursue more of them eventually. For now I prefer exploring new ones.
Going back up to Chele's post and combining with Amidon's, you all must have run across a board that you 'like' and keep trying at, but just cannot break thru to win.
For me, that's Mall of the Dead, Gates of Hell, Risk of Thrones and Iwo Jima, though on the first two, I've had good success in team games on them.
Squirrels of Suburbia, which is a fine map by Ratsy was a board that I had all but won, but dropped 30 pts in one turn on luck in an almost impossible dice roll and after I lost, decided I would never play it again, lol.
I think I've got around 175.....

Well, not yet, though I'm sure it will come eventually. So far it has actually only happened to me twice that I lost the first three public games on the same board. For European War I won the 4th. For Stellar Conflict I decided the game was as good as a coin toss, it's just a matter of having the better luck stats against neutrals, so I have so far stayed on 0 from 3. Maybe I'll play it again when I next have a lucky streak, lol.
Of course, as I like variation I've only reached 22 boards with at least three public games played.
Measly 33 out of 100 didn't feel so good.
But 49 of those I've only played 1 game
and 87 with 3 or less games played.
For Teamplay 33 out of 56 Played feels a bit better.
And 45 of those with 2 or less games played.
For Tourney 32 of 37 now that's more like it.
And 9 of those with 3 or less games played.
For Team Tourney 15 of 15 played.
Which makes me pretty happy as Team and Team Tourney are my favorite/focus of play.
Inspired by Johasi, I made a more thorough search of my own stats.
I have so far played a public and/or tournament game on 103 boards. I have won on 86 of them.
For individual public games alone: 64 from 83 played
Individual tournament games: 19 from 22
Public team games: 33 from 46
Team tournament: 18 from 18
"Perfect boards" with wins in all four categories: 3. WGWF, Invention and CC. I need to work on this one.
damn you JV, had to go look closer...
Public_Solo: | 111 | / | 184 |
Public_Team: | 31 | / | 56 |
Tourney_Solo: | 84 | / | 106 |
Tourney_Team: | 33 | / | 35 |
The two failed tourneys were elim tourneys (1 and out).
as to Litotes 'perfect games', i got 8:
Base 9
Europe 1560
Global Warfare
King of the Mountains
Moon Base
Of Kings and Men
Rent is Due Again
Tug of War* (*can't play as an individual)
War
WarGear Warfare
other personal tidbits:
- only tried Chutes and Ladders as a team tourney once (one of the 1 and dones from above)
- never tried Koprulu as a solo tourney (HOW?!)
- never tried Rescue as a solo tourney (Again, HOW?! I'm #1 on this board)
- something i haven't cared to pursue: ranked in top 10 on 22 boards (i wish there was a way to parse this info easier)
I think we need to have some Koprulu tourneys out there, both as solo and team.
Thingol - new avatar, right?
Yep. Figured the old one was getting stale after several years.
