I thought I'd start a thread for..
..people who want to learn how to play boards but aren't all that excited about the first 4 or 5 losses they are bound to incur in the process.
..people who are willing to help others learn some of the more advanced or just plain different boards out there.
Best to keep the thread clean. Try not to post unless you are offering to be a 'teacher.'
If it takes off (or is a dud) and someone wants to start a discussion about it - let's start a different thread.
I'll start it off..
Learn Go-Geared.
Just invite me to private game. I can suggest, annotate, or just plain play if you want. I recommend choosing one of the 1-sided diced scenarios for beginners as it is the best for developing sound foundational skills.
For more advanced players, if you want, PM me and I'll invite you to a DEV game where we can restart at will and explore openings, etc.
Of course, if you're better than me ..heh heh.. Teach me a lesson!
Feel free to invite me to a private game on any board you want to practice. Including:
I'd offer too, but I'm taking a hiatus this coming summer, so will come back to this thread in the Fall
I'd be happy to learn a beginner a few ropes on most boards that hasn't been specifically mentioned here already (there are some I don't know, if so we could try to learn them together).
