Has anyone ever requested this?  I think it would be a cool way to leave a 'footprint' behind.

..so it wouldn't revert to neutral for opponents for a complete round of turns?

I'm trying to think of the "natural/organic" applications.

Well, for a dungeon exploration, leaving a footprint behind for a turn could be useful to opponents and vice-versa.

For example, in my Skullduggery map, where every location is a max unit of 1:

Would be cool for sure. And could either be implemented to count for territory bonus or not, depending on where the action is put in the timeline. Same for continents/factories.
