Or meaning WTF without writing WTF. ðŸ˜
Lol.
I've changed the formula to number of rounds instead of number of players/teams.
Ok, WarGear Championship is ready to go. First open tournament going Live marks the start of the season.
I've created a Tournaments page which displays the tournaments that are being tracked. Since the database is updated once a day, if a tournament is created and goes Live in less than 24 hours it's possible for it to be missed - iirc, the ongoing teamvention tournament filled in just a few hours.
If for this, or any other reason, I miss an eligible tournament, either post the link to the tournament here or send me a PM.
I wonder if Amidon can see all tournaments. I'll contact him.
Good luck!
I've set 2 automatic updates per day, so less likely to happen. If I detect a new tournament filling fast I can also trigger the script manually since it runs pretty quickly.
In any case, if you see something missing do not hesitate to warn me.
Season 1 has started.
Regular season
Start date: 09-06-2017
End Date: 09-04-2018
Thanks for all the work you've put in
I pushed the end date by a week.
I've added a couple of details to the rules.
When there are perfect ties at #1, therefore multiple winners, the bonus points are divided among the winners.
Surrendered players/teams receive no points regardless of their place. In case of teams, if I'm not mistaken, all members must quit the tournament for a team to have Surrendered status. Therefore if not all players of a given team quit, all players will receive the points as I have no way to verify which players have quit.
I've pretty much finished the website so now we just need to wait for tournaments to finish, to start seeing the championship rankings in action.

Ties in points are broken primarily by least tournaments played and secondarily by most tournament wins - the Rules section contains this information now.
Rankings breakdown of each player can be found in the player pages. The algorithm maximises the total points in the countables tables while making sure the NvN and board diversity rules are not broken. If you find anything wrong, contact me as I cannot guarantee the code to be bug free, atm. It will take some months till we get to that point though.
Regarding the World Tour Finals board, I propose Quantum Entanglement (Doppelganger for Two) in Total Fog. The board has no first mover advantage, is fairly standard and is neither too complex nor too simple.

I'm open to other suggestions, though.

Since the id's of the tournaments are sequential, I can check from time to time if any tournament is missing, already did this once (thanks to Amidon for pointing this out).
Nevertheless, you can allways contact me if you detect a missing eligible tournament.

This has been reversed. All surrendered players earn points based on their place, like any other player.
1 down, many more to go...

Looks great nice work redshift :)

After all of redshift's work, this thread is one step beyond bumpworthy.
Agreed!
Shout out to Pratik and Babs for crushing it so far
So Redshift if I read right the main season would ten months from the start of the first eligible tourney listed then followed by the WTF Tourney?
Litotes is not as high in points, but has won every tourney he's played! (4 out of 4)

Actually, Litotes is 6 out of 6 in tournaments that completed after the counting began. (But 2 of those are not eligible. Only those that both started and ended after the counting began are being counted)

Beginner’s luck? 😗
His beginner's luck is quite contagious. He spread some of it to me too

It's the ketchup bottle effect. 1st half of last year I was one game away from winning several tournaments but in the end won none of them. Then I totally lucked out winning my first tournament on Skee, with the luck I had you'd have to be a total beginner not just on the board but on WarGear not to win. With the spell broken I started to win other ones too.
