I have a game with a two-day turn limit. My opponent waited until 30 minutes before he would have missed his turn and then entered holiday status.
Thinking about it made me curious.
He's on holiday until 28/2. When does his clock start running again? Midnight which time zone?
Also, when he's officially not on holiday anymore, will he have two days to make his turn or 30 minutes?
It's not a pressing matter but since I have premium I thought I'd figure out exactly how the holiday function works.
Nah. A soon as you end your vacation, all your clocks are over (provided you've actually been on vacation for the duration of the clock).
It's super important to take all your turns before you end your vacation or you'll get skipped in all your games.
Raise your hand if that's happened to you.
*raises hand*
Yep, me too...luckily, I've kept the impact to a couple games.
Thanks ratsy :) Good to know.
Only thing I didn't find out is which time zone is used. When do we officially reach 28/2? Eastern Standard? CET? If anyone can add that I'd be greateful.
I believe it differs for each person based on their default timezone.
OK, thanks Thingol.
i believe that to be the case also. turn timers are straight time from transition of turn, vacation goes by midnight of player's timezone (eg, if you set up to start today at 11pm and end tomorrow, you only have 25 hours of vacation).
if you take vacation prior to turn time expiring then game will continue to wait for you to take your turn until you've:
a) taken your turn,
b) ended vacation earlier than set,
c) set vacation expires
you can keep pushing c) off up to the limit of vacation days you hold.
