Anyone up for private team games?  Here's the idea..

1. Game creator suggests a board and format on this or another designated thread
2. Players recruit their teams (preferably via PM and NOT in this thread so that feelings aren't hurt)
3. Team captains sign-up their team names and players here.
4. Game creator starts the private game and invites the appropriate players.

This actually could be the seed for something bigger. If enough players are interested, it could be the start of a league or mini-guild of some sort.  For instance 5 member teams could use players interchangeably depending on the number of players required for a given board. Some teams might have a team captain who decides who plays in what game or even tournament, while others might make decisions more democratically, etc. The site Wiki could be used in conjunction with the Forums to coordinate/keep track of things. Hey, I'm just spitballing for down the road if it takes off; the idea for now is to simply start small and see if there are takers for individual games.

So here's my first proposed game: I was thinking 3-player teams, with 3 teams playing the King of the Mountain board with medium fog. It turns out KotM is a pretty challenging team board, even with two fortifies.

I was thinking about something like this. I have a game or two that are team play only.  I had thought up some sort of "Team Ranking" system, but I couldn't get it quite figured out.  I like this idea.

I forgot we were going from 4p to 3p teams...we lost ratsy.  I'm a bit saddened by this.    May he catch on with another good team.

+1 I'm kind of bummed too, but I decided that getting 3-man teams together would be easier for folks.

uh-oh, methinks some very formidable teams are forming...   

So far, two teams have entered, and I suspect a few of you are busy recruiting. 

• Korrun, Chele Nica, and Babbalouie
• M57, SquintGnome, Thingol

I'm going to leave registration open until Monday or until we have four teams, whichever comes first. I'll bet ratsy would join.. I'd take him on my team in a heartbeat.

Remember, there are a lot of really good players out there who don't visit the forums all that often, so take the initiative.  Come to think of it, do some research and find players who like the board.  That may be a good way to get folks involved, and there's no way the guild idea will take off unless we start to reach out.

Update: Unless there are strong objections I'm planning on putting this game on a 3-Day timer. I think that would be the optimal setting to attract the largest amount of players.

Yes
