Could I get an updated list of Members and who has gone this rotation?

With me gone its just Ozyman and Korrun left to complete the 4th cycle. Kind of bummed I won't be around for the kickoff of the next cycle.

Do we want to start a new thread? This one is 39 pages long...

What's the downside of staying on this thread? (besides it being long, which I see as a good thing)

In my experience from forums threads tend to become unpractical when really long.

How are they unpractical? I'm not trying to be combative, just trying to understand what the issue is

A usual limit is 5000 posts so we're a long way from that.

As to why, I'm not sure, I've moderated some and was told to close threads upon reaching 5000 and start new ones for the same topic, if it wasn't done by then. Can't remember why.

if nothing else, collapsing the pages on the thread title on GD's front page.

Yeah I kind of always looked at the long length as a good thing. Being able to jump several years into the past always gives me a level of nostalgia.

Although 39 pages is somewhat lengthy, starting a new thread means the link with the Help page info on this will be in need of an update.   

If you wanted to keep it clean, restarting every 1-2 years would've been an idea, but it is already 5 years going on, might as well take the 5000 posts as the limit.

So I checked with Tom asking if there would be any technical reason for the thread to not get too long. He said we can have it as long as we like. So I would vote to keep it one since there is to a technical issue, and for consistency and nostalgia sake.

i'm ok with keeping it all in one. really, i'm just tired of seeing all 39 pages in the thread listing page. 

I vote to keep it as is, though I hear you, weathertop, it'd be nice to collapse the pages displayed so you only see a few pages at a time
