If turns have become a chore a break is clearly in order. I hope your desire to play will return. If not - let me then offer you a thanks for playing in many games with me. I think we've only got one ongoing but I remember a lot of earlier ones.

Agreed.  The site was/is deserving of thousands of active users. And more users would have led to more diverse play and bit more fun rather than running into many of the same players over and over.

I agree with Litotes, will definitely miss you Amidon.  I appreciate the recent assistance with playtesting DnDOpoly and on others and I certainly respect your playing ability.  We'll also obviously miss Mad Bomber, though he's only reducing game count. Definitely a very underated team player - not based on my teaming up with him, but in playing many team games against him.

ok - new rule.  If you leave wargear, you have to find someone equally fun and cool to replace yourself.   

Amidon - we'll be accepting applications next week, and then we can hold interviews the week after that.  I expect you to continue to join new games until we can find a replacement. ;)

MB - glad to hear you are just cutting back, and not leaving completely!  I've done the same.  I was never as prolific a player as some of you guys, but I used to be in about 20-30 games most of the time.  Now it's more like 10-15, which is still plenty, but less of a time commitment each night.  

MB/Ozy - I'm in the same boat.  As MB has seen I've missed a number of times over the last few months (in a team tourney with MB for a few, unfortunately) mainly because work and life are getting in the way of things.  Cutting down on games has helped significantly, but I still find myself getting JUUUUUUUst a little bit drunk on a random Saturday and joining 4 or 5 games over what I should be playing.

A37 - Good luck with whatever you do moving forward, and please come back to say hi every once in a while.  You're a legend and will be missed.  I'll pour out a sip of bourbon tonight in your honor.

Sorry guys, thanks for the PMs to direct me here. Lots of time spent at work as of late. Took a management gig a while back and it's been rockin me mentally, so haven't been as prolific here (forums or games - down to less than 10 games ).

I come back and see Legends of the site are cutting back to "Lurking" status or outright Sailing for Distant Shores. I'm sad, shocked, and speechless.  

Thanks Amidon for all you've done for this site. It has truly been an honor.  I'm having my own moment of silence, with a finger of bourbon. 

In that vane/vein/vain, I wish to select a couple of Amidon's boards. I helped with the graphics on a couple of his boards, so I wanna pick one of those.
