Little Tourney. 4 games.
Thank you kind sir for making this wonderful match...
I was wondering -- I have a couple ideas for new maps - but am not/have not yet tried my hand at a game design. How should I proceed? Thanks!
try starting here:

if after looking thru there, post questions to the Board Designers Chat forum; there's quite a few more than willing to help in there.
Someone want to do a private match before the tourney?
Yeah, I can't figure out the board yet, would love some practice
I'll invite both of you to privates.
Think of it this way: The rectangle within any square is an activation button or sorts. When you own the button, then you'll see a small "on" symbol in the rectangle. At the beginning of any turn, any square that you've activated also activates the 4 adjacent squares (up, down, left and right of that activated square). This is where the propagation concept comes into play.
In order to activate a square you have to own the square and attack to the activation button within that square. So you can either attack the rectangle from a square you already own, or you can use an army from your kitty (circle on the left side of screen) to attack your opponent's owned, but 0 army squares) taking it away from him, and then attack from the square to the activation button. Then, fortify back to the square so that you protect that square from your opponent (if you don't fortify back, he can take your square and now that space is dead).
But remember - you are limited in attacks and fortifies, so be selective.
The strategy is to maximize your propagation while also limiting your opponents.
When a square propagates what are the limitimg factors in determining if the adjacent squares will be turned on or not? Do they have to be owned by you, or do you automatically steal your opponents as well?
i believe (after just getting schooled by BTF) you have to own the adjacent squares - no units necessary, just owned.
If you own the adjacent square, then you can propagate to it. You do NOT need armies in the square to propagate to it, and when you DO propagate to it, you will automatically gain an army in the square AND in the activation (but since army counts don't matter, that doesn't really matter, it just keeps your opponent from stealing it back.
If your opponent owns the adjacent square (whether he has armies in it or not) you will NOT propagate to it. However, if you attack to that adjacent square on a subsequent turn, then on the FOLLOWING turn, it will be automatically activated (since an adjacent square to it is activated already).
I really wish that it was easier to put screenshots into these forum posts.
Or, if we were good WG citizens, I could propose that for every once of these BRG boards we should be adding a Wiki page for the board.
I could propose that, but I probably won't because I'm lazy.

a WG peon, HA! if only...
adding a random image from your PC is seriously easy when in full editor. there's a button (even titled "image upload") to select files just below the box for typing...it adds it to the bottom of the text, so if you want to type more after inserting it, you'll have to insert then get the cursor to the end of the image and hit return.
I spose I should add a Forum FAQ to the wiki at some point.

I COMPLETELY forgot about adding game images directly like that...
