Hello, guys
I have a question... if I make a board where all seats' win condition is to eliminate a player assigned randomly at the game init... how can those players see who they have to eliminate? I'm trying to find this out for a while but I don't see any indications to it...
Can anyone point that out?
thanks a lot
Hey Alex,
Welcome to the forums - Great question! This is a BRAND NEW feature; and if you try it out you could very well be the first person to do so. Make sure you invite some friends or some of us regulars to Dev Games.
I believe there will be a column in the game player that lists who you need to eliminate.
I haven't tested or seen it yet so I could be wrong.
Anyone know what happens if someone else eliminates the player assigned to you? Do you get a new assignment?
You win if your assigned player is eliminated by anyone including by boot.
oh - seems like it would usually be better to handle it some other way. (either re-assign, or your win condition changes to last man standing). I don't think I'd use it much as is. It just seems a bit limited.
Do you think it would be better if you got the target of your original target?
I think that would be better.
I don't like the idea of one person being able to skew the games so much. I feel like boots are fairly common & would ruin the game if any boot gave the win away.
Either get your target's target, or switch the goal to last man standing (or ideally, let the map maker set what happens - it seems like both could be used effectively).

+1
Hey, thanks for the welcoming =)
but anyway... nobody does know how to check who you have to eliminate when you get the eliminate seat -> random win condition, huh? or does it...?
The only way to know is to try it in a Dev game. Has anyone played with this feature yet?
Well, I AM on a dev game now, and I can't see it... that's why I made this topic, btw.
Does anyone else managed to locate that info?

Is this a board you created? Can you post a link to the game or the designer?
So, I looked up what I think to be the games you are referring too:

http://www.wargear.net/games/view/325977
In win condition it says "last man standing", so, I don't think assassination has been turned on as a win condition...
To confirm that I tried looking at the board page: http://www.wargear.net/boards/view/5344/About, but, I don't see where that is there.
I think you created a scenario called "assassination", but, the win condition has not yet been set for it as it is still reporting "last man standing". I have yet to tinker with the win conditions, so, I'm just writing as a layman, but, that is what I think is happening here.
I'm looking at the designer for that board, and I don't even see where you set win conditions. I would think it would get set in rules->initial setup or colors, but I don't see it in either. I do see 'lock win condition to specified seat #', but don't see where to set it beyond that.
For whatever reason, Win Conditions are set outside the designer - for instance, on the scenario page - for this reason it's critical for reviewers to make sure that this is notated in the Description -- If not on the Board… Really, Win conditions can change the game so fundamentally, that there should be a strong warning system in place.
Nice looking board. No link from New Guinea to Eastern Australia?
Also, you forgot your borders between Britain and Iceland, Mahgreb and Iberia, Great Plains and East Seaboard, and Great Plains and Nunavut

erick - you have developed a keen eye for the missing border, the sign of a master map-maker.

It also probably shouldn't be used outside of MajorCommand unless with permission from the Designer(s) over there...and also should have a bit of a graphics update to it too (at least before Review submission if that's intended).
