No, I turn the "original" into a "thumbnail" image (and for the board explorer).. Check out Anarchy

So your "Base" or "Basic" Board becomes a scenario.  If that's the game you want to show first, then give it a name early in the alphabet..

if you have an existing board that you want to add a scenario to, then yes. you need to add two scenarios and port the original into one of them.
