Hi,
I'm relatively new to the website, and I was surprised to see that I didn't get a card after finishing my turn, despite capturing territory on this game:

Any idea why? Does this happen sometimes?
Welcome to the site!
You received a card on your turn today, April 21, but you didn't receive a card on your first turn (April 19). See here: http://www.wargear.net/games/log/60643 the turn ids 536 to 540 (placed and a fortify, didn't capture a territory) and then 628 where you got a card.
(Dates are in US Central Time Zone)

Ah Thanks!
The board rules say that "capture territory" requirement is "off", so shouldn't I have gotten a card on my first turn anyways?

The rule, Non-Vacant Territory Capture Required, being Off means that if a territory is Non-Vacant (meaning it has a unit count of 0) then you would still get a Card if that's the only type of territories you captured. If that rule is On then you must kill a troop when capturing a territory to get a card. This rule really only affects games with Abandon enabled, a special Starting Scenario, or certain times in SimulGear games.
So you must always capturing a territory in order to obtain a card, but that rule restricts to territories with at least 1 unit if enabled.
Hopefully I didn't just make that more confusing
. If I did then please just let me know and I'll try again. And if you have any other questions definitely throw them out here on the forums or start up a private game with some of us!

That counts the same as any other territory.
