Brings up a good point... currently the ranking game minimum for display on the Rankings is 2 games. This was obviously set when the site was a LOT smaller.

What's a good number now? It needs to be low enough to encourage noobs and high enough to filter out the noise.

10 at the LEAST.

Noobs are by definition noise, so what you are after is theoretically impossible.

How about 2 (or 3 or 4 or 5) wins. Setting it at 2 wins would knock about 300 people off the rankings. Noobs that win are less noisy than those that don't.

My first impression was that I liked the idea of setting it for a min # of wins, but the more I think of it, min # of games makes more sense.

10 at the very least.  12-15 seems about right to me.

I vote 10 for the time being, perhaps that number will grow and eventually plateau as the site grows though.

Why can't there be a choice of filters? >3, >9, >27, >81
Why can't it be variable? ..and can we have a name for it?

Like M, I long for a choice of filters to use when looking at the page myself. Absent that, 11 games finished would work as a general rule... I guess. I'd prefer 20 or so but I can understand that a new Standard Member might not want to wait that long to see themselves on the list. Then again, we're aiming at people staying for at least 2 months (first month + free Premium month), so maybe sprinkling in some other perks at various times throughout that process rather than encourage instant gratification would be a good idea.

EDIT: I believe I have uncovered why it was casually set to 10 with no filters available. Everybody sort by H-Rating and see who's ranked #1 with a 9-3 overall record.

On the Player Board Rankings page, the G-rating is still there.. Needs to be changed to an H-rating.

Could we get a tournament specific H-rating (all tournament play) much like the score used to rank the top 20?

I'd like to see the Rankings tab just have a Tournament list (like Board Championship and Global Ranking tabs), which would have all the Ranking table info (Games Wins and Losses and Win %, H-Rating, Last Played, Eliminated, Score, Tournament Wins, Tournament Losses).  The Tournaments tab could have the top 20 (or better yet top 10, similar to the Home page) with a link to the Tournament list of the Rankings tab.

How about development games don't count to your 10 game limit max? A perk for those who donate time and board slots for testing and improving wargear games?
