Unique concept and interesting gameplay. I didn't particularly enjoy the one game I've played, but with more time I think I could develop a better strategy. The abandon territory when 0 armies feature can leave many territories without a player, so you are able to consolidate power without others necessarily knowing how strong you're getting. You can also use this to your advantage by traveling on exploratory and destructive missions around the globe, and still potentially using these same armies for defense.
Very nice idea for a board but execution not top notch. Significant risk of landing in a standstill ending with noone risking attack. With some improvements it could be a great board.
I think it plays well. I'm not seeing a problem holding onto the timezone bonuses. The shifting unfogged viewport sometimes comes into play, but it's a neat gimmick in any case. Playing the simulgear versions solves the giant stack issue, although I didn't think it was a particular negative.
It's kludgy when you get eliminated, with the handshake round, but that's necessary for the game mechanics. Not a big deal.
The idea is original and the color tone gives a nice sense of foreboding.
Not sure I like the lack of card capture or elimination bonus, seems to be encouraging large stacks in out of the way places, and the timezone bonuses become moot because no one can hold them against the wandering stacks.
So far the "handshake" round while nice in theory is kind of annoying as people don't even know who won because of the fog. People just take an extra round to type wtf?!?
I think a few tweeks could improve things greatly.
