Really good 3 player map. I enjoyed all of its nuances. The faults I see are more due to the imbalances that are at play in a 3 player game in general. If player 2 attacks player 1 in a matter that is not judicious, then player 3 will likely be able to seize control of the game. This fault is not with the map though.

A little confusing, but it may get better with more play.

This board wins my vote for best designed 3-player game on the site.

It's very difficult to find 3-player games that have interesting game play. This is a rare and special map. There are defensive borders giving you a better chance of holding your continents. Yet, because of the all-important race in the upper left, the game always ends. Also, the sniper stations allow invasions that can really impact a game.

In a vanilla game, no one touches the race until someone wins the triangle. If played out, the endgame takes about 5-6 turns. The naysayers complaining about the endgame have the option of resigning, which is pretty safe. (The odds are astronomical against the triangle winner losing.)

But really, there are other options than just trying to win the triangle. You can start in on the race at any time! It puts a lot of pressure on opponents because they don't want to fall behind, but they also want to win the triangle. Evaluating who's winning can be difficult when someone starts the race early. So, the long endgame only occurs when no one exercises the option to race. When it does come down to an actual close race, the ending is very exciting!

This has to be one of my favorite boards on the site. The balance between the players is good, and the ability to make something out of nothing is there. The dice factor in but not overwhelmingly so, and depending on who you play with, strategy changes all the time. Superb! It would be perfect, but the endgame takes longer than it has to.

The end game is poor. If you have been eliminated, there are way too many restrictions on how many units you can place in the spots available. You often find yourself placing units into wasted locations just because you HAVE to put them somewhere (no reserves).

*Due to the good reviews below, i am going to continue a few more games on this board to see if i'll like it.

Only one game, and didn't enjoy it at all. Game was decided within the first 3 turns, then the next 15 or so turns were just getting finished off and then waiting for him to knock out the flags. The graphics aren't good at all in my opinion. It screams "don't play me."

A tragic number of bad reviews on this one... don't heed them!
Normally a 3 player endgame on a board is really bad, as no one wants to put themself out there to allow a 3rd party to gain in strength... so there is a lot of sitting back. Here the 3 player play is quite fun, and doesn't last in that stalemate situation forever.
The bonus structure is fun, and the choice in going for the endgame can be crucial.

I like this board...there doesn't seem to be a sure strategy though, as it appears to change each game, depending on how the other two players go at it.

Fun board. Its kinda like a a game of chicken between three people. Try not to get on the bad side of anyone else they team up on you. The most important skill is knowing when to let the main map go and focus on getting to the capitols. Its typically sooner than most think. Later on you can use your card bonuses to staff you fight to the capitols if you are loosing ground on the main board

I enjoy this board but definitely don't have the hang of it yet. It's interesting that a person who is "eliminated" can still have a come from behind victory.

Fun, But not the best. Seems i always pick the same spot another does and neither of us want to give in, in turn the 3rd guy always wins. Perhaps have each of the 3 players start in a corner by themselves.
